In 2003, Alicia painted this surreal, meditative image with watercolor pencils for her upcoming book How to Make Peace, and titled it "Behold the World with Compassion, Transforming Darkness into Light." But, somehow, in the nearly two decades of posters, postcards, and internet postings of her since then, "Peace Girl" became the name that stuck with the peace, social justice and environmental activists that added her to their lives.
Alicia posted closer view of the painting on this page, so that you can see it without the color distortion in the t-shirt mock-ups.
The materials that went into these cotton t-shirts are sustainably sourced and economically friendly. Available in 4 background colors (purple, azalea, royal blue and navy blue) and 8 sizes, if the supply chain gods smile upon us.
